Catherine and William fell in love and bore children but only one survived. That child was Stuart.
General History:William was proud to have a son and now had a reason to fight for the throne that was occupied by King Irvine. He traveled with his family under the guise of wanting to show his son many cultures when in reality, he wanted to amass troops for his cause. One such kingdom that they traveled to was Ulfur, where Stuart met his first "friend" Prince Justin However, between amassing troops and plotting his ascension to the throne, William didn't have time for his son.
After the war began, Stuart was raised by his mother. He learned the finer things in life, like how to sew and cook and create herbal remedies from different herbs. The visits to Ulfur were stopped and he saw his friendship deteriorate. In Stuart's eyes, after losing that friendship, he had no one but his mother. He harbored a deep hatred for his father and that hatred grew even after William became king because Stuart viewed that William changed nothing about the kingdom.
Slowly Stuart began to poison his father, who had already grown sic due to the weather. He finally took over when his father passed, his mother taking her own life soon after. He did not weep, knowing that he had to keep the part of a strong king.
