The Castle's Keep

Courts of kingdoms always hide secrets, be they from other members of the court or foreign nations. Though noble houses band together, sometimes they are kept that way only to plot against one another

Lean on Me- Bill Withers

25 years old

Height and weight:
4'2", 80 lbs

Body type:
Reese is tall for a halfling and lean, having gone without much to eat when he was being raised.

Blood Type:
B-

Reese's gray eyes are full of mischief, as he never misses a moment to cause it.

Hair:
His hair is usually decorated rather flamboyantly, being a different color than normal human hair or the like.

Race:
Halfling

Nationality:
Essian

Birthday:
November 1

Other phys. traits:
Reese, as a halfling, is incapable of growing facial hair. He also has a tattoo of thorns around his wrist, marking him as a member of the Lightfoot halflings.

Preferred outfits:
Clothes:
He prefers fabrics that allow him to move comfortably and swiftly, seeing as how when he paints, he rushes to get his things. While Gareth wears his simple clothes when not working and his extravagent clothes for work, Reese does the opposite. His extravagent clothing: brightly embellished tunics, breeches, and buckles shoes; are worn when in town. His simple clothing: a wool vest, a simple shirt, and wool trousers with boots, are worn when he works because he doesn't care about getting paint on them.

Colors:
Reese loves colors that draw attention, both when he works and when he is not working. He prefers colors such yellow and golds or electric colors like blues and pinks.

Underwear:
None

Family background:
Reese's mother Evelyn and father Lagarth were aware that they could not provide a decent life for their son so they gave him up to a family of farmers, the Browning family, that they thought to be rich. Reese felt out of place at first, being one of two boys in a family of seven, not liking that he was the only boy except for a quiet young man named Gareth.

General history:
They say that each halfling has a human counterpart: the human being the polar opposite of the halfling. This is most certainly the case of Reese Wynn. After his parents were forced to give him up at a young age, he lived with the Browning family and at first was very indifferent to their quiet and only son Gareth. For the first ten years of their lives, Reese and Gareth were not very close. It wasn't until that Reese realized that they both had a love of adventure and the arts that the two became almost inseparably close.

Reese was the one of the two who suggested that they start their adventure when Gareth turned of age. Only sixth months away from that point, he didn't care if he wouldn't be able to get work much of anywhere. The two started out on an adventure, hoping that something good would happen to them after all the wrong that had been done to them all their lives. When danger rears it's ugly head, he is usually the one to be thrown into the thick of it. He likes confrontation and battle, hoping one day to lend his uses to a war effort. Until then, he is just fine working as the most reknown painter and artist in almost all the land.

Talents:
Painting
Drawing
Gambling

Special powers:
As a halfling, he is much weaker than a normal man. This is not so much a special power as it is a fact of life.

IQ:
Reese is a very cunning young man but he is not very book smart.

EQ:
Though he cares for others and would do anything to help a friend, there is also the fact that Reese is the first to suggest pick pocketing from someone or even cheating them out of their money in a gamble.

General personality:
Positive traits:
Generous
Loving
Sweet

Negative traits:
Cunning (sometimes to the point of being sinisterly so)
Can sometimes be a bit greedy
A bit of a thief

Maturity:
Reese is the more mature one of the two.

Relationship status:
Single

Social standing:
As a halfling, the world already looks down on him. As a man who is known for being able to gamble with the best of them and take your money, he's hated. As an artist who is only trying to bring art to an otherwise lifeless society, he's revered.

Occupation:
Artist/Con man

Philosophy/Values:
Though he values life like his brother, he also realizes that not everyone deserves it. He can be a bit harsh at times, arguing when he thinks he can get away with something. He values Gareth as a brother more so than any other relationship he has ever had and would never do anything to hurt that bond. If he sees someone with just a bit more money than he thinks they should have, he is not afraid of parting them with their money.

Quirks and mannerisms:
Narrows his eyes when annoyed

Rational/Emotional:
Rational

Shy/Bold:
Bold

When angry:
Does his best to belittle whoever made him angry unless they are a friend of Gareth's or he can see it's offending Gareth and then he stops.

Values violated:
Argues his point until the other person sees it his way.

Misc. Views:
Believes nature to be the true thing to worship and not silly gods

Minor Notes:
Unlike Gareth, Reese can read. He has tried to teach Gareth in the past but Gareth refuses out of belief that if he reads, his stories will be influenced and will not be as good.

Strengths:
His friendship for Gareth
His ability to take money by gambling
His belief in himself and his best friend

Weaknesses:
His size
