[center]Important Aspects of The Culture
Role of Women vs Role of Men:
Most women in Luminiege are homemakers, very few have jobs. Men usually are the breadwinners of society. Only men can be warriors because custom says that women are not strong enough.
Arts:
The women in the royal court of Luminiege are known for the tapestries they weave. Each seems to tell a different story. Metal work, especially for weapons is a respected artform. Minstrels preform every night in the royal court, playing beautiful music and reciting epic poems of far off places and battles won and lost.
Clothing:
Typically men wear tunics that are simple and wool breeches, unless royalty. Royals tunics are a lot more intricate and made of finer materials than that of a peasant and the breeches are a warmer material. Women wear dresses made of simple materials, unlike royal women. Royal women wear finer materials, like silk, and their dresses are embellished with lace and other decorations.
Customs:
In Luminiege, each town must give a part of their profits from each business to the royal family. The royal family gets half of the crops grown over the course of the year as well.
